The Dillington House Sewing Bee – Get to Know Your Overlocker
A series of sewing courses each one building your skills and confidence.
Get to Know Your Overlocker.
Overlockers are a great addition to the dressmaker’s kit, making a professional finish to the seams on the garments, also for use in constricting jersey and knitted fabrics. This course is designed for people who are thinking about buying an overlocker and would like to know about them before purchasing one. (Jenny will bring an overlocker for anyone who may wish to try before they buy).
If your already own an overlocker this course will build on your confidence – changing thread, tension and stitch. Time will be spent making a sample of each type of stitch that the machine can produce – this will be a useful reference for each student to keep.
You will need to bring your sewing machine to the course.
Jenny Harrison has been a tutor of Soft Furnishings for more than 15 years, she has a Certificate in Education and has taught to Level 3 City and Guilds at local colleges.
