Adult Education Terms and Conditions

To make a booking

To book a course, please contact our Events Team on 01460 258613.

To secure a place on the course and accommodation, early booking is recommended. Your booking cannot be confirmed without a deposit or fee payment. All day courses, Concerts, Lectures, Pre-booked Meals and Additional Stays are payable in full on booking. All residential courses require a non-refundable deposit*.

Written confirmation which includes a map with instruction on how to find us will be sent. Course timetable, which includes what you should bring to your course and general information, will be sent a few weeks in advance of your course date.

• The residential fee includes tuition, full board and accommodation plus travel and admission for field trips where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
• The non-residential fee includes tuition, lunch, dinner and refreshments plus travel and admission for field trips where applicable, unless stated otherwise.
• The day course fee includes tuition, lunch and refreshments plus travel and admission for field trips where applicable, unless stated otherwise.

A personal assistant to a disabled person may attend a course with a fee reduction of 20%.

Please note: Dillington House reserves the right to vary the course programme or substitute a tutor should it be deemed necessary for whatever reason.

Dillington House reserves the right to amend prices and availability on the website due to errors or omissions without notice. Prices are correct at time of publication but may change without notice with the exception of confirmed bookings. Confirmed bookings will not alter.


There is a minimum, non-refundable deposit of £50 (please read our cancellation policy below). To ensure yourself a place on a course we recommend that you don’t leave your booking until the last minute.

The balance of fees is due four weeks before the course date. If you do not pay the course fee in accordance with these terms we reserve the right to cancel your place on the course and you will be invoiced for the full course fee.

Fees are non-refundable if you cancel within this four-week period. Fees quoted are per person unless stated otherwise. VAT is included where applicable.

We recommend that insurance is taken out in case you have to cancel through illness or unforeseen circumstances.

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel:

All payments are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another course or event. If you cannot attend, then you can nominate a substitute at no further cost. We recommend that you take out your own insurance in case you have to cancel through illness or unforeseen circumstances.

Should it be necessary for you to cancel your booking, in the event of Dillington House holding a waiting list for places on a course we will attempt to replace your booking. If we are successful, a refund will be calculated based on the difference between your fee and the fee of the replacement booking, which may not be the same.

If Dillington House has to cancel:

Dillington House reserves the right to cancel a course for whatever reason but where this happens, we will endeavour to give as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancelled course your fee and your deposit will be refunded.

Every effort is made to ensure that the courses run as described. However, we can take no responsibility for consequential losses should, in exceptional circumstances, any arrangements need to be changed for any reason.

Arrival and Departure times

Unless otherwise stated, arrival time for day courses is from 9.00am and the first session usually begins at 9.45am with the day ending at 4.00pm.

Weekend residential courses arrival time is from 5:00pm on the Friday and ending after lunch on the Sunday.

For residential courses running in the week please check the programme and timetable.

Meals and dietary requirements

Dillington House has a reputation for providing delicious meals as well as catering for dietary requirements.

Please let us know beforehand to ensure we are best able to meet your requests; it may not be possible to cater for requests at the last minute.

Please note:

• No smoking is allowed within the buildings.
• Dillington House does not assume responsibility for guests’ property
• On the day of departure, we ask that resident course members vacate their rooms by 11:00am.
• Pets cannot be accommodated at Dillington House (assistance dogs only by prior arrangement).


We follow the Data Protection Act at all times when asking for or handling your information. Personal and financial data will be processed fairly and lawfully. Data is processed only for the purpose for which they were collected, are kept secure against unauthorised access and loss or damage and are not kept any longer than is necessary.
