Description

Enjoy an exciting new printing technique using the heat press and disperse dyes to create unique designs in this day course.

After a demonstration of the heat press , you will explore colour and design using a variety of techniques . You will experiment with painting dye papers, cutting papers, using images, adding textures with lace and fabrics and printing with leaves to produce a range of fabric samples.

Suitable for anyone who enjoys learning new techniques, creating designs and playing with colour and pattern .

No previous experience needed.

Tutor information

Clare Walsh is a Textile Designer, Maker and Workshop tutor, with a background in education and a lifetime love of textiles she uses botanical material to print directly onto fabric, creating vibrant unique prints which are used in garments, interior products and accessories. Inspired by and printed from nature her printed textiles are created for bespoke commissions and special projects. Travels in India and a growing collection of hand carved Indian printing blocks have inspired hand printed designs on natural linen and organic cottons and Clare’s enthusiasm for printed textile design, is communicated in the range of courses and workshops she delivers to students of all ages.
