Tutor information

Andrew Nolan learnt to dance at a children’s class in West London and gained his Teaching Certificate while studying in Edinburgh. He has taught around the UK, Europe and further afield including at the RSCDS Summer and Winter Schools. Aside from teaching, Andrew also enjoys playing for SCD and has recently ventured into tutoring candidates for the teaching certificate.

Andrew has a particular interest in older and less well-known dances from the early books but does like to supplement these with more familiar ones. He is looking forward to working with Robert Mackay outside of an exam situation and an enjoyable weekend of dancing

The Musician: Robert Mackay is a valued and regular member of the Argyll’s team having played for us for over 40 years.  This will be a landmark occasion as unfortunately Robert has said this will be his last.  He has a long and illustrious career as a musician for Scottish Country Dancing.  He has served on the RSCDS Publications Committee, organised and run weekend schools and the RSCDS musicians’ workshops as well as travelling extensively world wide to play for clubs, classes and certificate courses.  He has played regularly for the RSCDS Summer School and is a member of Edinburgh Branch.
