The Needle Felting Flora & Fauna of the British Countryside
Love wool? Then you’ll love needle felting!
Fibre artist Carla Taylor of The Mousehole Woolery will guide you step by step through the techniques of needle felting as well as sharing lots of tips and tricks that she has learnt along the way as well as her love and passion for local Dorset and British wool . Fun, creative and inspiring day(s) with friendly, like-minded people!
These workshops are suitable for both beginners or those with some experience of needle felting and includes all materials and a needle felting kit that you get to keep, take home and carry on creating with.

Monday – Autumn Woodland
Inspired by the autumn colours of the British countryside you will learn how to create pumpkins, acorns, autumn leaves, fungi, conkers using a beautiful array of wool that can then be transformed into either a garland, wreath or to decorate your home with to give it that cosy autumn feel or wear as an autumn brooch!
Tuesday – Country Hares and Foxes
By the end of the workshop you will have created your own country hare or fox out of beautiful wool ready for you to take home or, if you can part with them, to give to someone as a special gift.
Wednesday to Friday – Majestic Barn Owl
Design and create your own majestic barn owl using a beautiful array of sustainable coloured fleece and local Dorset wood, in the inspirational setting of Dillington House.
There will be a supplement of £50 for residents attending the full week.
The Mousehole Woolery is situated in the heart of the Dorset Countryside and is the home and studio of fibre artist Carla Taylor. The Mousehole Woolery creates contemporary sustainable wool sculptures inspired by the animals and landscape of the British countryside and coastline using local Dorset and British wool using the technique of needle felting, transforming loose fleece in to sculptural work of art! Carla exhibits her sculptures at The Contemporary Textiles Fair in Teddington, The Salisbury Contemporary Craft & Heritage Festival, BBC Countryfile Live and galleries in Dorset. She has also been featured in Craft & Design Magazine, Wildlife Watch and the International Felting Association magazine.

All course participants will be sent further guidance prior to the course date.
Dillington House is following Government guidelines and adhering to new guidance including local or national lockdowns.
All places booked can be transferred or refunded in the event this course is cancelled. Individuals who are affected by local lockdowns will be able to transfer to an alternative course. All other terms and conditions apply.
