Mike Denham has combined a musical life as a respected performer of early 20^th century American piano styles, ragtime in particular, with a career as a chemical engineer on the safety of nuclear power stations and North Sea oil production.
As a young man he enjoyed the opportunity to accompany famous figures in the world of traditional jazz, including on occasion Ken Colyer and Humphrey Lyttleton.
His “SpeakEasy” concerts, at which he duets with guests of the highest calibre from the UK and the international scene, are popular at several West Country venues.
Mike has performed solo ragtime at concert venues including London’s Purcell Room and St George’s Bristol, and at many UK festivals and jazz events.  He particularly enjoys bringing ragtime to attractive settings like Dillington which host a range of music genres.
