Description

In this workshop they would learn about the Slow Stitch movement. Through the simple and mindful process of stitching – we will explore the beauty of the different textures of natural fabrics and threads in neutral colours and how they can be combined to create a collage of pieces which could be used in a Slow Stitch journal or displayed on a wooden bobbin.

All levels welcome.  Come to learn about what if meant about Slow Stitching and mindfulness in stitch, ideal for anyone with a desire to learn how to hand stitch and develop the use of hand stitch in a more creative way.

Some fabrics and threads will be provided.

Tutor information

Paula worked as a textile’s teacher for many years in secondary education.  Her recent move to Somerset has allowed her to share ideas, teach and help adults to develop their creative skills. She takes inspiration from nature and traditional hand stitching techniques from around the world and has recently been inspired by the ‘Slow Stitch’ movement.

Her current work reflects her enjoyment of creating hand stitched, textile pieces with natural and recycled fabrics and thread.
