Description

This course would appeal to paper crafters and card makers. Quilling or Paper Filigree use long strips of coloured paper, rolling, shaping and glueing to create decorative items.

An introduction to a relaxing and fulfilling craft, that needs only your fingers, a quilling tool, paper and glue. This friendly and relaxed course is aimed at beginners. You will learn to make the basic shapes and how to group these together to make simple but effective designs. During the day you will make at least one quilled greeting card or small picture to take home with you.

Includes materials.

Tutor information

Kirsty Baker Originally trained as a florist and has always had a passion for art and crafts. Discovering quilling purely by chance, she was immediately hooked. ‘It’s enormously relaxing and the possibilities of designs to create is endless’. Kirsty uses traditional quilling techniques to create a range of quilling cards and framed pictures with a modern feel. She has recently been featured in Woman’s Weekly Magazine, with an article on keeping traditional crafts alive.  Now happily in her dream job, she teaches Quilling to adults with learning difficulties and autism.
