Printing, Foiling and More with a Heat Press
Description
A day exploring colour, images, design and patterns with the heat press. You will prepare your own dye papers and use sublimation papers combined with textures, images and plant material to create imaginative and vibrant designs.
New techniques will be demonstrated and the use of foil will enhance your results which can be used as samples, artwork or as a basis of further textile work.
Suitable for beginners, no previous experience needed.
Tutor information
Clare Walsh is a Textile Designer, Maker and Workshop tutor, with a background in education and a lifetime love of textiles she uses botanical material to print directly onto fabric, creating vibrant unique prints which are used in garments, interior products and accessories. Inspired by and printed from nature her printed textiles are created for bespoke commissions and special projects. Travels in India and a growing collection of hand carved Indian printing blocks have inspired hand printed designs on natural linen and organic cottons and Clare’s enthusiasm for printed textile design, is communicated in the range of courses and workshops she delivers to students of all ages.
