Plantagenet England: The Age of Chivalry
Description
The Plantagenet dynasty spanned eight generations of English kings from 1154 to 1399. It produced some of England’s greatest kings and some of its less able rulers. The period witnessed great turbulence and change including great cultural achievements in architecture, music, literature and art.
The aim of this course is to look at the members of this dynasty in turn, their achievements and failures and to look at something of the cultural ‘spirit of the age.’

Course runs from Dinner on Friday to Lunch on Sunday.
Tutor information
Mark Cottle was born in the Scilly Isles, educated at Truro School in Cornwall and was a graduate of Birmingham University with a Masters Degree in late Medieval History. Mark has spent over 20 years lecturing in Anglo-Saxon, Medieval and Tudor history in further and higher education.
