Contemporary Landscapes – Water Soluble Oil Painting
This course is designed to help you to adopt a contemporary style in your practice of oil painting – to help you to create gestural, dynamic marks.
Suitable for all abilities, for those new to painting, mid-range and established artists – Louise’s aim is to share her process by demonstrating each step with clear instructions before you experiment. She will supply some oil paper for us to use as initial experiments leading to you using your prepared canvas or wooden panel.
Ideal for anyone with a love of the landscape, big open spaces, coastal views. A desire to adopt a freer, expressive style in their art practice. A desire to create paintings in oil with an emotional connection to place rather than replicate a scene.
Accommodation is available subject to availability.
Louise Bougourd is an award-winning artist, painting & sketching the South West landscape for over 30 years. Shortlisted Membership for Society of Women Artists, selected & exhibited at Mall Galleries, Chelsea Art Society & shortlisted for the RI (Royal Institution).
