Description

Learn how to apply colour to pure silk fabric and create your own beautiful design, embellished with hand-embroidery. Friendly personal tuition will be given at every stage of this lovely technique.

This day course welcomes all levels of ability for a truly inspiring day.

Helen Roskell’s passion for hand embroidery started in early childhood. My deep interest in pattern, colour and texture extended into many artistic areas of study and I have always enjoyed experimenting with stitch and design.

As an experienced school teacher it comes as second nature to share and pass on my own enthusiasm in learning and developing new skills. After studying for the City and Guilds Certificate in Creative Embroidery and Design at Exeter College I went on to run my own creative Textile Workshops, teaching adults of all abilities.

I have organised day courses across Somerset and Dorset including the Avalon branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild as well as residential courses at The Kingcombe Centre and Dillington House.
