Mountain Cornflower Embroidery
This is a creative hand embroidery workshop which will celebrate the beauty of the Mountain Cornflower, commonly found growing in our gardens in the Spring.
We will be making a close study of all the intricate elements of this flower and translate them into a unique hand-embroidered piece for you to frame or incorporate into a cushion panel or evening bag.
A knowledge of some basic embroidery stitches would be advantageous, but all levels of ability are welcome. Personal friendly tuition will be given at every stage of the process.
Helen Roskell’s passion for hand embroidery started in early childhood. Her deep interest in pattern, colour and texture extended into many artistic areas of study and has always enjoyed experimenting with stitch and design.
As an experienced school teacher it comes as second nature to share and pass on her own enthusiasm in learning and developing new skills. After studying for the City and Guilds Certificate in Creative Embroidery and Design at Exeter College Helen went on to run her own creative Textile Workshops, teaching adults of all abilities.
Helen has also given talks and demonstrations to local groups in Somerset.
Dillington House wishes to reassure everyone that we are working closely with Somerset County Council to ensure every measure is being taken to make Dillington House a safe place for everyone.
All course participants will be sent further guidance prior to the course date.
Dillington House is following Government guidelines and adhering to new guidance including local or national lockdowns.
All places booked can be transferred or refunded in the event this course is cancelled. Individuals who are affected by local lockdowns will be able to transfer to an alternative course. All other terms and conditions apply.
