Description

Do you want to make a skirt in just one day? Look no further that is exactly what we are offering here!

By the end of the day you will have created your own skirt design and be able to take a skirt home to impress your family and friends.
This is a practical training day where students will learn how to make a simple skirt.

This day course will enable beginners and intermediate learners to make a skirt. Bring along a pattern of your choice, fabric and related haberdashery and your sewing machine. An A line or pencil skirt is good for beginners, or a gored or bias cut for the more confident.

You can choose to make a skirt of any design – long or short – and the aim is to leave the class with a skirt ready to wear that evening. The course assumes a working knowledge of sewing machines.

The day will begin by taking body measurement then choosing the correct size of pattern to cut out. Using you chosen skirt pattern you will learn how to lay the pattern on the fabric before cutting. You will then tack the skirt together, try on and fit, adjust where necessary. Finally level the hem and finish your skirt.
