Description

Felting is a fascinating craft, turning individual wool fibres into a warm, strong, versatile  fabric which can be made large enough to create homes like Mongolian yurts , rugs, clothing, shoes and bags using just water, soap and friction.

You will learn the technique of laying down the fibres and rubbing and rolling to make a simple seamless bag using a resist , you will also learn how to roll fibres to make a strong handle for your bag.

In the afternoon we will combine wool fibres with a light natural fabric with the Nuno felt technique to create a silk Nuno scarf.
