Introduction to Quilling
Quilling is a centuries-old art which requires three basic elements – your fingers, paper and glue. After a brief introduction to the histroy of quilling, students will learn how to create spiral coils and looped formations from narrow strips of paper, manipulating these into different shapes and then grouping them together to form designs. By the end of the day, they will each have made at least one greetings card or small picture to take away with them.
Philippa is a fully Accredited (Higher Level) Fellow of the Quilling Guild, which has recognised her skills at Masters level for competition purposes. In addition to creating highly original quilled pictures and jewellery Philippa also works hard to promote the art of quilling through workshops, demonstrations, social media and the Guild’s websites. Philippa is well known in the quilling world as Editor of the Guild’s highly-regarded magazine, Quillers Today. Her book ‘QUILLING The art of paper filigree’, published by The Crowood Press in 2019, is a comprehensive practical guide to all internationally-recognised quilling techniques.
