Enjoy a day exploring pattern making on fabric, during the day you will have the opportunity to try the ancient craft of Indian Block Printing , Thermofax screen printing, and Sublimation Heat Press printing. With each technique you will create textile designs that are unique and exciting.

In the morning you will combine Indian block printing and thermofax screen printing to create a design on paper and then print a bag or tea towel. In the afternoon you will use sublimation dyes, producing samples using this interesting technique.

There will be the opportunity to purchase some hand carved blocks and textile paints £3-£15.

Clare Walsh is a Textile Designer, Maker and Workshop tutor, with a background in education and a lifetime love of textiles she uses botanical material to print directly onto fabric, creating vibrant unique prints which are used in garments, interior products and accessories. Inspired by and printed from nature her printed textiles are created for bespoke commissions and special projects. Travels in India and a growing collection of hand carved Indian printing blocks have inspired hand printed designs on natural linen and organic cottons and Clare’s enthusiasm for printed textile design, is communicated in the range of courses and workshops she delivers to students of all ages.
