Description

Getting a Good Night’s Sleep
Wednesday 22 July
Fee: £56
This course is ideal for those with sleep challenges or are interested in finding out
more on the subject.

During the day you will develop your understanding of sleep and how to enhance your ability to get to and stay asleep. Sleep plays a vital role in good physical and emotional health. Much of the body’s
repair work and many systems are reset overnight, so when you don’t sleep everything gets affected. In today’s 24/7 culture many people find it difficult to come down at the end of a busy day, relax and get a good night’s sleep. Additionally genetics, age, wellbeing, stress levels and environment can all be contributing factors. For some getting to sleep is a challenge and for others it is staying asleep or sleep quality.

Whilst you can’t make yourself sleep, knowledge and setting up the conditions
for sleep will give you the best chance of getting and staying asleep and sleeping soundly.

In this workshop we will explore:
• How sleep works and why it is important
• What gets in the way of a good night’s sleep
• The impacts of sleep deprivation
• How to come down at the end of a busy day and prepare for sleep
• Tips for improving your sleep hygiene
• Relaxation techniques that you can use
at home
• The development of a sleep routine

Please wear comfortable and warm clothing and bring a yoga mat or blanket purely for lying on.
