Creative Couching
Description
Come and enjoy a day learning how to couch threads in a huge variety of ways to produce your own fabulous textural piece. A large selection of threads will be available for your own experimentation. This enjoyable and easy technique is SLOW STITCH at its best, allowing each person to develop their own design at their own pace. Friendly personal tuition will be given at every stage of the process.

Helen’s passion for hand embroidery started in early childhood. Her deep interest in pattern, colour and texture extended into many artistic areas of study and she has always enjoyed experimenting with stitch and design. As an experienced schoolteacher it comes as second nature to share and pass on her own enthusiasm in learning and developing new skills. After studying for the City and Guilds Certificate in Creative Embroidery and Design at Exeter College, she went on to run her own creative Textile Workshops, teaching adults of all abilities. She has also given talks and demonstrations to local groups in Somerset.
