Description

In this workshop you will learn to make soft and hardcover bindings for pamphlet stitched books. You will learn the fundamentals about the structure of books, preparing pages, sewing, cutting and gluing.

The course is suitable for beginners and bookbinders wishing to practice skills.

This Workshop is ideal for those who wish to learn simple forms for presenting work or art work or for building a fundamental knowledge of bookbinding.

Residential Fees From: £405.   Non Residential: £275 (includes some materials)

Course runs from Dinner on Friday to Lunch on Sunday.

Tutor information

Mylyn McColl has been a professional bookbinder for over 15 years. Her design background lends itself well to creating design bindings. An active member within the bookbinding community she currently sits on the Society’s of Bookbinders London and South committee. Mylyn is the Principal Tutor for Bound by Veterans, a charity providing rehabilitation military veterans. She works from her studio in Wiltshire and teaches bookbinding and boxmaking at various venues. She loves books, binding and sharing her skills and joy of the craft.
