This course will suit all abilities of bobbin lacemakers from those just starting through to advanced. It covers English laces and many from the continent including Belgium, Spain and Russia. Many of the continental laces are taught with the aid of a colour-coded diagram to help students continue their work at home. Help and advice is available for the important related topics of thread choice, finishing and mounting lace.

Alison Thoburn has been making a wide range of laces for over 37 years and teaching lacemaking for over 14 years. She has served on the Lace Guild Committee and taught at their Summer School. She is a member of Devon Lace Teachers and currently serves as Secretary and Webmaster. Alison has a particular interest in designing and pattern adaptation and incorporating colour into designs.
