Professionally finished garments and handicraft artefacts depend on various processes being completed to a high standard, this course will enable students to gain more confidence in these areas. During this course the areas that will be covered will include, standard and concealed zip insertion, seam and hem finishes, bias binding and its uses.

This course is suitable for students with basic sewing skills, or students who need a little extra help in specific areas, and you will need the ability to use your own sewing machine, which you will need to bring with you.

You will need to bring your sewing machine to the course.

Tutor information

Jenny Harrison has been a tutor of Soft Furnishings for more than 15 years, she has a Certificate in Education and has taught to Level 3 City and Guilds at local colleges. In the past she has written articles for Sewing World Magazine. Currently she runs her own classes privately for dressmaking and also offers a bespoke soft furnishing design service to private clients.
