A Little History of Paris Through Art & Architecture
This study day will begin with a historical survey of Paris from its ancient origins as the settlement of the Parisii tribe to the present day.
We will then look in detail at aspects of the city – its architecture, people and events down the centuries through the lens of paintings made by a diverse group of painters. These will include topographical works by lesser known artists such as Jean Baptiste Raguenet as well as paintings by Camille Pissarro and Auguste Renoir.
