Description

To complement the exhibition Rossetti’s Portraits at the Holburne Museum, Bath, this lecture will not only expand upon the foundation of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, its original membership and philosophy within a broader European context, but also consider later artists influenced and inspired by it, including William Morris, Edward Burne-Jones, and some of the Pre-Raphaelite sisterhood.

Whilst observing their artistic output and the subjects which they embraced, we will also visit  their carefully constructed living arrangements and those of their patrons, including at The Red House and Wightwick Manor.

All-comers welcome.

Includes lunch. Lunch is served from 1pm and lecture begins at 2pm.
